Mindfulness introduction sessions for students
These 1 hour sessions through the day taught student some basic techniques of mindfulness to help to calm the mind. Discussion centered around how distracted we are by our internal thoughts, sensations and feelings but also by external triggers like mobile phones and people. Lots of laughing and fun, lots of surprise and reflection and hopefully some inspiration and motivation to look after their own mental wellbeing. It was good see that student services at Stockton Riverside College are taking the wellbeing of their students seriously and offering them opportunities to learn and try different techniques.
